Smoking Services

How can we help you stop smoking?

Quitting smoking may feel like a daunting challenge but research shows that with the right support you are four times more likely to quit than if you go it alone.

Square Mile Health, in partnership with Queen Mary University of London, provides smoking cessation services to anyone who lives, works or studies in the City of London.

Our specialist advisors are fully trained and have extensive experience of working with a range of smokers including those who are heavily addicted, long-time smokers, or those with a smoking-related illness.

We provide intensive behavioural and pharmacological support, including Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) and Champix. We also provide electronic cigarettes as an alternative to NRT for individuals who wish to use this method to quit tobacco for good.

Smoking Services

Square Mile Health Pharmacy Stop Smoking Service

All pharmacies in the City of London offer a 12 week FREE* Stop Smoking service.

Our service is open to anyone working, living or studying in the City of London.

Your first appointment will take around 30 minutes. An advisor will assess your needs, explain what you can expect from the service and describe all the available stop smoking medication. You will have a choice between a variety of nicotine replacement products or Champix (Varenicline).

The second appointment will last around 15 minutes. This will be your quit date. Some advisors may combine the first and the second appointment if you are ready to quit immediately.

During appointments 3 to 6, you will have dedicated time with your advisor who will give you support and advice around cravings, triggers and withdrawal symptoms. They will also review your medication, gradually reducing your dosage with the aim of being completely nicotine-free. Each appointment will be around 15 minutes.

Weeks 7 to 12 will be for medication supply if this is still required.

* If you pay for prescriptions a single charge of £8.20 is payable to cover the 12 weeks of treatment
