On 15th March 2018, WDP Square Mile Health participated in a Lung Health Day at a Sir Robert McAlpine construction site. The event was run in collaboration with the British Lung Foundation and offered staff the opportunity to learn their “lung age” and get some vital information about keeping their lungs healthy. WDP were on hand to give staff the facts about smoking and measure lung carbon monoxide levels. Those who were interested in quitting were referred to our colleagues at QMUL who run Stop Smoking clinics across the City of London. Those who weren’t quite ready to quit could talk to WDP staff about the benefits of quitting and where they can get help when they decide to kick the habit. Being a drugs and alcohol service, WDP also talked to staff members about their drinking habits and advise on ways to cut down and drink more safely.
